Fore	Warning yelled by a player when their shot threatens another player
Fried egg	Lie in a bunker in which most of the ball is below the surface of the sand
Get home in two	When a player reaches the green on a par-5 in two shots
Going for it	When a player attempts to reach the green with his second shot on a par-5
Grain	Direction grass is growing on the putting green, affecting the break and speed of the ball; or direction of growth of blades of grass
Green	Extremely short and well-manicured grass where hole is located
Greenside bunker	One adjacent to the putting green
Grip	The top part of the club; or manner in which the club is held
Vardon grip (overlapping grip)	Bottom hand pinky overlaps between the index and middle finger top hand
Interlocking grip	Top hand index finger interlocks with pinky finger of bottom hand
Ground under repair	A marked damaged area from which a player may remove his ball without penalty
Grounding the club	During address, letting the clubhead touch the ground behind the ball
Grooves	Depressions on the clubface to control spin
Hazard	Any bunker or water hazard
Hanging lie	Ball situated on a steep downslope
Hardpan	Hardened ground, usually without grass
Headwind	Wind coming into the golfer
Heeled shot	Shot hit off the heel of the club, resulting in substantial loss of distance
High side	Area above the hole on a sloped green
Honor	Privilege of hitting first on a hole, gained by having lowest score on previous hole
Hook	Ball flight that sharply curves right to left
Hosel	The hollow portion of the clubhead where the shaft is attached
In jail	Faced with a difficult shot and little option
Knee-knocker	Putt of short length, three to five feet
Knockdown shot	Shot intentionally played to keep a ball low in the wind
Lag putt	Putt struck from long distance intended to stop within a few feet of the hole

Layout	Refers to the design of the golf course

Primary rough	Second cut of longer grass of fairway
